Milton Almonacid

Visiting lecturer at ISM, Professor of History and Geography at the Universidad de la Frontera, Temuco, Chile

Milton Almonacid is a cultural philosopher with over 12 years of global experience, specialises in the intersection of society, science, and technology. His extensive expertise encompasses Epistemology of Sciences, Decolonization of Knowledge, Whiteness Studies, Indigenous Epistemologies, Non-Western Global Narratives, Intercultural Translation and the History of knowledge production. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Transnational Studies at the University of Copenhagen, Milton is dedicated to addressing issues related to Mapuche epistemological contributions in global knowledge production. Specifically, he explores how these knowledge systems crucially foster a diverse and pluralistic understanding of knowledge. Milton's academic journey spans Chile, France, and Denmark, and he actively collaborates with universities and cultural institutions in Chile, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and Denmark. His contributions aim to shape 'transition paradigms' towards sustainability through speculative methodologies and innovative approaches.
