Here we are striving to form a community around sharing and deepening our knowledge of financial tools, trends and best investment decisions.
In order to participate effectively and meaningfully in the club, newcomers are expected to listen to a 10 week program composed of:
In addition, in the spring semester we will present to you our new comprehensive assessment course for company valuation. The duration is expected to be between 5 to 7 weeks, valuation theory and practice included. In this course we plan to use the knowledge gained from Aswath Damodaran and his common sense approach to common valuation techniques.
To continue the development of our club members beyond the educational content more attention is given to trading stocks and building the club’s portfolio. This way by using financial simulators the club can provide safe opportunities to practice analysis and investing skills. However, we heavily encourage all members to take the opportunity to use such simulators to practice the learnt techniques by creating your personal portfolio. Since, this is the best way to keep yourself motivated and practicing, to the point where you could be able to suggest your own ideas on how the club’s portfolio should look like.
After all this, newcomers are welcomed as fully matured club members and gain the ability to advance in the club’s hierarchy by joining the club’s management which consists of five separate departments: project management department, public relations department, marketing department, operations department and analytics department. Project management department or PM is responsible for creating trading algorithms, interviewing our guests and developing ideas for the club’s welfare. Public relations department or PR is responsible for finding internship and job possibilities for our club members and are searching for new club’s partners, who could support our activities, be our guest and share their knowledge. Marketing department is responsible for maintaining the attractive club’s image in social networks and has to publish other department’s activities. The Operations department or Ops is responsible for the smooth club’s activities, the level of satisfaction of members and overall club management and strategy. The Analytics department is responsible for weekly market reviews, analysis, company’s self-development documents, tracking latest news and finding various market trends. The club also provides necessary online courses for your work here, but for the most active members an unrestricted access is provided so they may learn skills beyond the scope of our material. Although we do not require international students to join the departments, we will not deny them and if they wish to. However, native students are obliged to join one of the five departments.
This year we are reaching out to various student investment clubs. Since, we believe that it is impossible to properly educate our members on the world of finance and how it benefits them without experiencing the different approaches to and methods of investing done by a variety of regional and international student clubs. We hope to host a variety of intra-club events (online conferences, competitions). Therefore, your involvement as a member will directly affect the material, tasks and activities provided for you.
