Course description

This course provides an overview of manufacturing systems from product design to facility planning, processes, efficient production systems, and quality control techniques. The role of smart technologies, like data analytics, cloud computing and automation in reshaping manufacturing engineering is emphasized. The main emphasis of this course is to focus on existing digital tools and possibilities to apply them in the manufacturing to achieve sustainable results. Smart manufacturing consists of the convergence between the techniques used in modern data science and artificial intelligence, to create processes that can be used in the factory of the future.

Course goals

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and skills to use emerging technologies (AI, Internet of Things, Data Analytics) for the improvement of manufacturing processes and creation of value for the companies.
