This course is an introduction to the legal business environment. The business law course is focused on management students, revealing the general principles of business law, without deeply analyzing the content and application of specific legal norms, as this is more typical for law students. Business law (or it can be called "commercial law") studies focuses on business (commercial) relations and is a component of civil law studies, at the same time dealing with both public and private law. Business law studies include analysis of corporate law, contract law, labor law, intellectual property law, tax law, arbitration, consumer protection, general principles of litigation, and more.
To acquaint students with the main methods and principles of business law, to review the main theories of business law in the context of corporate law, contract law, intellectual property law, tax law, arbitration, consumer rights protection, as well as to identify the goals of relevant legal regulation or individual legal institutes, the structure of the Lithuanian national in the context of law, to develop students' independent and critical thinking, to develop interdisciplinary abilities in the field of law and economics.
